It was first announced on November 16, 2010 with ''Pac-Man Championship Edition DX'' being the first title in the series with the label, it came out on Xbox Live Arcade only one day after the label was announced and the Playstation Network release was less than a week later. ''Galaga Legions DX'' was the second game with the label and it was released on June 29 2011 for Xbox Live Arcade, and for Playstation Network on August 2, 2011 in North America, August 3, 2011 in Japan, and August 10, 2011 in PAL regions. Despite the success of both games, those were the only two games that were released with the brand name before it was abandoned after the other two announced games for it were cancelled which were ''Aero-Cross'' (based on ''Metro-Cross'') and reboot of ''Dancing Eyes''. ''Pac-Man Championship Edition DX'' and ''Galaga Legions DX'' are both still available on both consoles and the former was also later ported to Windows 8 without the "Namco Generations" label and was ported to Steam at the same time it was updated in 2013 and added "+" to the end of its title.
